One problem when retro fitting an electronic dashboard or restomod clocks in your standard vehicle can be the fuel gauge reading.
This is expecially the case for the Mazda MX-5 fuel sender which is in built into the pump. While it's nice to have the fuel level sender integrated into the pump, what you might find is the dashboard cannot correctly read how much fuel is in the tank.
So how does the fuel sender work?
The fuel sender is a resistance based, when the fuel tank is empty it is a high resistance, and when the gauge is full, is displays a low resistance.
As standard, the Mazda fuel level sender reads 109 ohm empty and 3 ohm full.
The etb 6 bolt fuel sender reads 260 ohm empty and 14 full.
If your gauge is not reading correctly, we can match these up using our ""Gauge Wizard"" which enables you to ""convert"" the reading from the sender so that it matches the gauge.
